On the joyful day of 12th April, theme parks across the UK could provide us once again with the thrills and laughs we all need. Now re-opened for business, you can start making plans to treat the children to a day of fun or decide on a theme park to visit with your friends. You may think the options are overwhelming, but we have the perfect guide for you!
Alton Towers Resort
Alton Towers, located in Staffordshire, is a theme park packed full of thrilling adventures for all ages. If you’re interested in hurtling upside down at 50mph through a jungle of tangled steel, Nemesis is the ride for you. Get ready for the fright of your life.
Perhaps if your group is younger (or contains a few less daredevils!) you should explore Duel: The Haunted House Strikes Back. This interactive children’s ride allows you to load up your laser guns and fight those ghoulish monsters.
Sandwiched between the M1 and the M6, Alton Towers is clearly signposted from both motorways, allowing a smooth journey aboard your minibus full of excited passengers.
Chessington World of Adventures
Chessington is a one-stop-shop for all the entertainment you and your family need. With the theme park, zoo and glamping now open, you can spend all the time you like exploring new animals or finding out who can shout the loudest. Better yet, there’s a new ride dropping for 2021. Croc Drop is a 25m plunge into the giant, waiting jaws of an evil crocodile. Can you handle it? Maybe driving through Zufari is more up your street, but keep your eye out for the hidden dangers.
This Surrey based theme park is two miles from the A3 and M25, on the A243. Just take J9 or J10 to be transported into a world of delight.
Legoland Windsor Resort
Legoland is a rite of passage for children of all ages. With its miniature rides and family attractions, it can be the perfect theme park for young families to enjoy. Families can ride in their own hot air balloons with Balloon School and escape before coming back down to experience the new ride, Mythica. This alternative universe of magical creatures is bound to blow your minds!
Why not hire a minibus to transport your excited group for an out-of-this-world birthday party experience? Legoland offers great birthday packages and travelling in a group can only add to the fun.
On the B3022, Legoland is just two miles from Windsor town centre.
Thorpe Park
The last of the four main UK theme parks, Thorpe Park, is a must-visit location. Found in Surrey, just twenty miles from Central London, take J11 or J13 from the M25 to arrive at the gates.
Thorpe Park is home to many famous rides. Stealth created a lot of uproar as the UK’s fastest rollercoaster, travelling from 0-80mph in just two seconds. Oh, and you’ll be 205ft high in the air! If you’re a fan of the movie Saw, braving their own rollercoaster is a necessity. As a horror themed ride, it’s expected that you’ll go through something gnarly, so get ready for a showstopper.
Once the shock has worn you out, make a stop at Infinity Garden Dining or The Cantina and refuel before your journey back to base.
With all theme parks, it’s essential to pre-book your day out as COVID-19 restrictions allow limited numbers only – and remember to come equipped with your face masks! When thinking about booking your excursion, why not consider hiring one of our minibuses to make your journey simple and comfortable?
