As they say, ‘tis the season to be jolly… Last year, our Christmas was a dismal affair with many of us not being able to celebrate in the way we would like. This year, it looks as though Christmas is back on! Are we the only ones who think we should celebrate doubly hard?

There’s no better way to get in the festive mood than to attend one of the UK’s Christmas light trails. These festive light shows are a brilliant way to kick off the Christmassy period, and appeal to all ages. With twinkling lights nestled in trees and flickering flames to toast marshmallows, the visit from Father Christmas will feel right around the corner. Follow this guide on the best light trails for a magical evening.

The illuminated trail over a bridge sets the tone for a spectacular Christmas, and at the end of the trail there are stalls and the option to gather around a cosy fire.
